Introduction

For this day, Toby brought his "new" Alvarez 12 string, which he found on eBay. It's a gorgeous guitar and rare, featuring craftsmanship and tone you would not expect in a Japanese acoustic. Apparently, it was made as a sort of Custom Shop-type instrument, and Alvarez pulled out all the stops. Pretty cool. Throughout the day, the Alvarez was deployed to fatten up some previous takes and 'enrich' the tones of the recordings overall. Toby also did some work with his white Strat, another Japanese guitar, made by a company called ESP. It's a killer guitar and has been in Toby's arsenal since we were both in high school. And that's a long, damn time.
